The Jackson-Madison County School Board is made up of nine members who are elected to a four-year term representing the district in which they reside. The Superintendent of schools serves as Secretary to the board. The Jackson-Madison County School Board sets all policies and procedures for the 28 schools in the system and is affiliated with the Tennessee School Board Association.

School Board Meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  Occasionally, meeting dates will be changed by board action and special meetings will be called from time to time. Please call 731-664-2592 to confirm meeting dates and times.

Any questions relating to the operation of the school system may be appealed to the Board, after pursuing all appropriate administrative channels.
