• Proud to be a South Side Hawk!

Here at South Side High School, our strong sense of community and school pride lays the foundation for helping our students succeed. We provide a comprehensive educational program that prepares our students for success in many areas. One of our many unique offerings is a robust A/V program. It is time for high school students to register for the 2018-2019 school year.  This is NOT choosing your classes, (though that process is being held now too), this is registering your child to attend South Side high school for next school year.  In the past, this has been the green forms.  This year this process will be completely online, making all those paper forms that are sent home every year obsolete!

Parents/Guardians MUST have a Parent PowerSchool account to complete this process.  Student PowerSchool accounts do not have access to the registration materials.  If you do not have a Parent PowerSchool account, please email Elizabeth Parnell and she will send you your letter with directions on accessing PowerSchool and the registration page.  If you have questions, contact the school!

Students:  If you are registered for the 2018-2019 school year by spring break, you will be able to wear jeans every Friday for the rest of the school year!  Encourage your parents to get you registered!

  • Help the Spanish Club Support The Pulsera Project

Pulsera is the Spanish word for bracelet, and SSHS Spanish club members and students are putting their money where their pulseras are. In partnership with nonprofit organization The Pulsera Project (www.pulseraproject.org), the club is selling high quality woven bracelets ($5) and bags ($10) hand-made by artisans in Nicaragua and Guatemala. Each item is tagged with the picture and name of the artisan who made it. 100% of the funds raised will go back to the Pulsera Project and into creating fair trade sustainable jobs for artisans, scholarship funds, healthcare programs, housing initiatives, and community development projects in Central America. See a Spanish Club member to get your pulsera today! Sale ends Thursday, March 22.

  • Congressman Kustoff Visits South Side HS

South Side had the honor of hosting Congressman David Kustoff to discuss with students his role in Washington D.C., particularly his roles with financial committees.  The Congressman talked with students enrolled in economics classes and many of these students are participating in a stock market challenge.  Thank you Congressman for taking time to visit with our students!
