Mr. Richard Willis - Principal

Hi everyone! I am excited about being your principal for the 2022-2023 school year! It is an honor to come back "home", as I was a student at the original West Middle School.

Here's a little info about me:

• I grew up in Medon, TN and attended Malesus Elementary and West Middle.
• I am a 2001 graduate of South Side High School.
• I earned a Bachelor’s from Middle Tennessee State University in 2005.
• I also earned a Master’s degree from Bethel University and an Educational Specialist degree from Union University.
• I have been a principal for nearly 10 years: Stigall Primary School and Preschool Director for the Humboldt City School System (5 years); principal of Isaac Lane Elementary (3 years);
• I was a teacher for 6 years and have taught the following grades; (kindergarten, 1, 4, and 5)
• I was a consulting teacher at Northeast Middle School for 1 year.
• I am married to Kerris Rogers Willis. We have one son, Nicolas, who will be a 7th grade student this fall.

We are excited about what lies ahead for West Bemis Middle School. We have great things planned for the coming year! Please help us make this the best middle school in Madison County!
