Thank you for your interest in the LOOP program at JEA! This program is a unique work-based learning opportunity where students are provided school credit for completing a paid work-based learning opportunity at JEA during their senior year of high school.JMCSS and JEA share a vision for providing students options and opportunities for career preparation during high school. JEA will provide students with an overview of the organization in various departments with opportunities to learn job-embedded marketable skills that will help students pursue trade-based career pathways, hopefully with JEA.Selected JEA LOOP students will follow a 2/3 schedule in which students work 3 days per week and complete academic work 2 days per week. Academic work will be completed using online/virtual learning, which provides the flexibility necessary for students to follow this non-traditional schedule.Requirements for LOOP at the Jackson Energy Authority (JEA):
- Students will need to complete the WBL coursework to receive their school credit.
- Transportation will be the responsibility of the student.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the start of their placement.
- Complete the Jackson Energy Authority employment application (link will be provided if you are selected to advance in the interviewing process).
- Complete a background check.
- Complete an employment physical and drug test (blood, hair follicle, and/or urine test).
- Provide 2 letters of recommendation.
- Provide 2 acceptable forms of I.D.
Additional information will be provided to students who are selected for an interview.
