JMSS offers support for parents in our Parent Academy classes throughout the year. These are one-hour sessions that empower parents to help students succeed. Help reinforce your child’s learning by working on literacy and math skills at home. Click here for educational resources tied to our curriculum. One of the best things you can do is spend time reading with your child after school!
There are several opportunities for parents to volunteer in our schools! Here are some specific programs:
- Arise2Read: To get started reading to Elementary students, contact Rhonda Heard.
- TN Achieves: Click here to become a mentor to a rising college student through their first years out of high school
Volunteering in JMCSS requires a volunteer form and a background check. To get started, please contact the principal at the school where you would like to volunteer!

Take part in decision making by joining one of the following groups:
- School-based PTO
- Title I Site-Based Committee at your school
