Parent Engagement
-
Parents, your involvement is critical to student success in school. Help your students achieve their potential by partnering with us! We invite you to explore the resources linked below and find a way to get involved.
Parenting Support
JMCSS offers support for parents in our Parent Academy classes throughout the year. These are one-hour sessions that empower parents to help students succeed. Information will be sent through the all-call system.
Classroom Support
Help reinforce your child’s learning by working on literacy and math skills at home. Click here for educational resources tied to our curriculum. One of the best things you can do is spend time reading with your child after school!
Volunteering
There are several opportunities for parents to volunteer in our schools! Here are some specific programs:
- Arise2Read: To get started reading to Elementary students, contact Rhonda Heard.
- TN Achieves: Click here to become a mentor to a rising college student through their first years out of high school
Volunteering in JMCSS requires a volunteer form and a background check. To get started, please contact the principal at the school where you would like to volunteer!
Communicating with Teachers
Staying in touch with your student’s teachers is easy with these tips! For district news, follow us on Facebook or Twitter, and consider attending a School Board Meeting.
