Transportation

The JMCSS Transportation Department is responsible for daily bus operations, dispatching buses, fleet maintenance, safety and driver training. In addition to our regular routes, our buses transport students to sporting events, educational field trips and a variety of competitions each year. JMCSS recognizes the transportation of students as an essential part of our public education system. It is the goal of JMCSS to provide our students with safe and efficient transportation services.
Transportation Safety Hotline:
If you observe a potential safety violation involving a Jackson-Madison County school bus, you may file a report by leaving a message on the JMCSS Transportation Safety Hotline. That number is clearly posted on the rear bumper of all school buses operated by the District. The Transportation Safety Coordinator will begin an investigation into all safety reports within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt.
If possible, include the following information:
- Bus Number
- Time of observation
- Location of observation
- Potential Safety Violation
Transportation Safety Hotline: 731-215-2705
This number should be used ONLY if you see a potential safety violation. Please, use the below number for all other calls.
JMCSS Transportation Department: 731-988-3890
Please, note during pickup and drop off hours, the office operates with an in-office staff of two or fewer people. This greatly limits our ability to answer all calls. Often times, calling your student’s school will result in a quicker response.
