Empowering English Learners: Jackson-Madison County Schools' ESL Program
Jackson-Madison County Schools' ESL department is dedicated to providing comprehensive English language support to students whose first language is other than English. Our experienced and certified ESL teachers work closely with over 800 active ELs and a total of close to 1,300 ESL students across the district, representing a diverse range of over 50 home languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, and many more. We are committed to ensuring that all ELs receive the individualized instruction and support they need to master both conversational and academic English, empowering them to achieve their full potential.

Additional Initiatives:
- Adult ESL Classes: We offer flexible and accessible Adult ESL classes to help adults improve their English language proficiency for personal and professional advancement.
- After-School Tutoring Program: Our after-school tutoring program provides additional support to ELs who need extra help with their English language skills.
