Dr. Diane Hicks-Watkins

Dr. Diane Hicks-Watkins, a transformational leader in the West Tennessee region, provides a rich and varied skill set in her role as Associate Superintendent for the Jackson-Madison County School System. A proud 1996 graduate of Lane College, Dr. Hicks-Watkins began her career by teaching in her hometown of Hardeman County at Bolivar Elementary. Additionally, Dr. Hicks-Watkins taught in Memphis City Schools before transitioning to Hardeman and Fayette Counties in district leadership (Coordinator for Coordinated School Health) and school administration (Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School Chancellor). Dr. Hicks-Watkins continued her professional development through participation and completion in the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL). Now a senior leadership member in the second-largest district in West Tennessee, Dr. Hicks-Watkins joined JMCSS after serving as Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Fayette County Public Schools. Dr. Hicks-Watkins is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority Inc.
