Greetings Northeast Parents and Community,

It is my pleasure to serve as your executive principal this year! I am a native of Jackson, who was educated in Jackson Madison County Schools. This year, I will begin my twelfth year in educational leadership.

Prior to principalship, I held many leadership roles including consulting teacher and instructional coach at East Elementary (2012-2014) and assistant principal at Thelma Barker Elementary (2014-2015). My principalship experience includes one year as principal at Jackson Careers and Technology Elementary (2015-2016) and eight years as principal of Denmark Elementary (2016-2024), where we experienced multiple years of above average growth. Even with these amazing experiences, I remain a teacher at heart. Prior to leading, I had 10 years of classroom teaching experience (grades 3-5 & writing) in Metro Atlanta Schools.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education) grades (K-8) from Austin Peay State University, Masters of Education from Cambridge College, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College, and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Memphis. By pursuing lifelong learning, I intend to be an example for scholars and teachers that we should never stop learning.

Two awesome young people, Channing (14) and Josiah (13) call me mom. I have the same expectations for them as I do your children, who I will love as if they are my own. I want to see them excel and become productive human beings, who have ample opportunity to become whatever they want when they are adults.

I am an active member of Love and Truth Church and Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. As a part of these groups, my family and I take a hands-on approach to serving the Jackson community. I have also been awarded Jackson’s Top 40 People Under 40 Award and most recently a Community Giraffe Award. In my free time, I enjoy writing to inspire, encourage, and motivate others as well as traveling.

It is my privilege to lead Northeast Middle and the many talented teachers, staff, and scholars there! Please know that every decision I make and every action I take will have scholars at the centerI love and have a heart for children! Therefore, my goal is to provide a supportive climate and culture within our school that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each scholar and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with all stakeholders in our school community this year!

Kind Regards,

Dr. Kimberly N. Quinn
