  •  My name is Jerry Poteete.

    I am the P.E. Teacher at Andrew Jackson Elementary. Students attend P.E. classes to learn about different activities and games that can enrich their lives not just in the school setting but outside of the school settings.

    Below is listed some of the things we do in our P.E. classes

    K-2 grades:

    • Locomotor Skills
    • How to throw an object using the underhand throw.
    • How to catch an object using the correct techniques of catching.
    • How to kick an object using the correcting kicking techniques.
    • How to dribble a ball using your hands and your feet.
    • How to strike an object with your hands or an implement.
    • How to interact socially with other students during games and activities.

    3-5 grades:

    • How to throw an object using the overhand throw.
    • How to pass and receive an object using your hands or implement.
    • How to play different sports and learn the basic rules.
    • How to increase your physical fitness at school and outside of the school settings.
    • How to interact socially with other students during games and activities.
