Parkview Prep Academy

The Parkview Prep Academy is a behavior intervention program for K-12 students that seeks to support behavior, emotional, and social transition for students with challenging behavior. The program is designed to integrate academic and behavior support, utilizing a therapeutic model that focuses on helping students to regulate their emotions, change inappropriate behaviors, and feel more in control of their environment.

In addition to the regular academic curriculum, PATHS and Mindfulness Curriculum are used for social/emotional and trauma-informed practices. By integrating behavior support into the learning environment, the faculty and staff at Parkview Prep Academy work with their students to reduce aggressive behavior by promoting emotional and social competence.

Our school is committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of every student.  We invite you to complete this brief survey to share your experiences, perspectives, and ideas regarding mental health support on campus.  Your feedback will help us better understand student needs and guide the development of programs and resources that foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all.

The Student Government Association students of JMCSS, Parkview Prep Academy recently experienced an extraordinary opportunity that many students never have, a firsthand visit to our State Capitol in Nashville.

While at the Capitol, our students engaged directly with the lawmakers who represent our Jackson community. They met with Senator Ed Jackson, Representative Chris Todd, Representative Johnny Shaw, and Representative Jesse Chism. These meaningful conversations allowed students to ask thoughtful questions, discuss issues impacting their generation, and gain a deeper understanding of how laws are created and passed. They also had the distinguished honor of meeting Karen Camper, Tennessee State Representative and House Minority Leader, who shared her leadership journey and encouraged them to remain active and engaged in civic life.

One of the most memorable highlights of the trip was being selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the Tennessee Municipal League Legislative Conference. The TML Legislative Conference encourages and facilitates member participation in the legislative process and provides a forum to update members on developments during the current legislative session. To stand before leaders from across the state and lead the pledge was a tremendous honor and a proud moment for Parkview Prep Academy.

In addition to their time at the Capitol, students enjoyed a night stay at the beautiful Canopy by Hilton Nashville Downtown The Gulch, giving them the opportunity to experience downtown Nashville while building camaraderie and lasting memories. They also shared dinner together at The Cheesecake Factory and explored Opry Mills for shopping and fellowship.

This trip was more than a visit; it was a meaningful investment in leadership development, civic responsibility, and student voice. Our SGA students represented JMCSS, Parkview Prep Academy with excellence, professionalism, and pride. We are incredibly proud of the way they continue to rise as the next generation of informed and engaged leaders.
