    The online form for Pre-K registration is now available. 

    The Pre-K registration event originally scheduled for March 24-27 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.




    Application Process for 20-21

    Part 1. Register online starting March 23, 2020

    Part 2. Turn in required documents in person (Schedule and locations TBA)


    Required Documents

    • Certification of immunization
      • Must be signed on top right corner for the physical
      • Must be checked on the bottom left corner and signed on the bottom right corner for immunization
      • Blue cards or Health Department Immunization print out cannot be accepted
    • Copy of state certified birth certificate. A mother's copy of hospital copy cannot be accepted
    • Copy of Social Security card or verification of social security number from Social Security Office (if available)
    • Household income verification. This can include: most recent check stub, most recent tax return, public assistance case, or SSI pay stub
    • Three (3) proofs of residence in Jackson, Tenn., or Madison County, Tenn. This can include: mortgage documents or property deed, apartment or home lease, utility bills, driver's license, voter precinct identification or automobile registration.

    Q. How old must be child be to attend Pre-K?

    A. Students must be 4-years-old on or before August 15. 


    Q. What are the qualifications for Pre-K?

    A. Families must meet state mandated income and eligibility requirements to be enrolled in a Voluntary Pre-K class.  However, there are a few locally funded classed that do not have income requirements. There are also special education classes for students who are served through the district’s Special Education programs.


    Q. Is school bus transportation provided for Pre-K students?

    A. School bus transportation is not provided for Pre-K students.


    Q. Do Pre-K students attend school all day?

    A. Pre-K students attend all day and attendance is mandatory.  Students can be dismissed from the program for excessive absences.
