Cher Woolfolk was named Arlington's Teacher of the Year, as well as Jackson-Madison County's District Elementary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Woolfolk has been teaching for 23 years, and currently teaches 3rd grade at Arlington. She says that one of the reasons she became a teacher was due to the incredible teachers she had in her life. She adds, "I had some of the most patient and caring teachers that encouraged me to become anything I wanted to be. I knew early on that I wanted to become a teacher so I could make a difference in the lives of as many children as I could, just as they had." Cher will go up against 2 other teachers in the district for Jackson-Madison County District Teacher of the Year in May.
