Barnett Named New Principal at Liberty Tech High School
JACKSON, Tenn. – North Parkway Middle assistant principal, Mr. Brad Barnett, has been named as the new leader of Liberty Tech High School. “In his four years in JMCSS, he has proven to be a strong leader.” said Dr. Eric Jones, superintendent of the Jackson-Madison County School System. “I am confident in his ability to implement what is needed to make Liberty Tech successful.”
Prior to joining JMCSS, Barnett worked in Memphis, TN, where he was a teacher at the high school level as well as Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, and Baseball Coach at Cordova High. Barnett joined JMCSS in 2015 as an assistant principal at Thelma Barker Elementary for one year and has served as the assistant principal at North Parkway Middle for three years. “I am extremely honored to join Liberty Tech as their new principal,” said Barnett.
Mr. Barnett realizes taking over as the principal at Liberty Tech will come with challenges but says he is looking forward to work with the community and staff to invest in students and continue the district’s process of providing options and opportunities. “Students should expect to be given the best opportunity to learn and grow and should be ready to work each day,” he said. “Parents and staff can expect a partnership and collaboration for the good of each student that attends Liberty Tech.”
Barnett, a husband and father of three, earned a Bachelor’s degree in education at Lambuth University, as well as a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision at Trevecca.
A new assistant principal at North Parkway will be named in the coming weeks.
