Pre-K and Kindergarten Students Begin School on a Staggered Schedule
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson-Madison County School System announces all pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students will begin 2019-2020 school year on a staggered schedule.
Pre-K and kindergarten students at all schools will begin school on a staggered schedule the week of August 5. This means, students will attend school just one day between August 5 and 9. This will allow students to have more personalized time with their teachers to get acquainted with their new classroom and school procedures. Pre-K and kindergarten parents will need to continue to make childcare arrangements through August 9.
Parents will receive a call and/or a personalized letter from their student’s teacher during orientation or kick-off celebrations that will specify which day their child is scheduled to attend school during the staggered start week. If you are unsure of your orientation or kick-off date, contact your child’s school.
All Pre-K and kindergarten students will begin full-time on Monday, August 12.
