JACKSON, TN –Alexander Elementary carries an above average rating for student growth from the state for the second year in a row. While they are most proud of earning the highest rating possible by the state in Math, they attribute their success in student learning across subjects to the delivery of the instructional framework and use of our strong curriculum combined with giving teachers highly effective feedback.
“I am very proud of the students, teachers, and staff at Alexander for taking responsibility and ownership of all the students at Alexander,” stated Carolyn Caldwell, Principal at Alexander Elementary. “We will continue to work relentlessly to improve achievement by focusing on the quality of instruction and having high expectations for all our students.” The plan they have in place will continue to build teacher capacity through specific feedback to teachers, individualized professional learning, and other professional learning opportunities.
Teachers appreciate the focus and feedback being given to them. "Alexander Elementary is a school with dedicated and effective teachers that strive for academic growth and success for their students. Teachers work hard to ensure that students gain the knowledge they need to be successful in their academic life" said Kelly Moffitt, 5th grade Math teacher at Alexander Elementary.
