South Side High School is a comprehensive school for grades 9-12 offering a wide range of courses for our students including stringent core classes along with a variety of opportunities to discover and groom skills and talents. We offer a range of vocational training, as well as classroom opportunities in the arts and a host of athletic teams and clubs. There are also opportunities for students to receive college credit in several classes by enrolling in dual enrollment classes partnering with Jackson State Community College.

All students are required to adhere to the JMCSS dress code policy (6.310). Students are required to wear red, black, or white polo style shirts (no logos) with collars and khaki, navy blue, or black bottoms. A black, brown, or khaki belt is required for all garments with belt loops for all students. Jackets worn inside the building may be solid red, black, white, or gray with no logos bigger than a business card. Any clothing that is inconsistent with the mission of South Side High School may not be worn.
Parent Center
South Side High School has a parent center! The center is located on the Tech Prep campus at the entrance of Student Services. Here, parents of South Side students may use a computer and printer so they may complete FAFSA forms, college applications, or check PowerSchool. Visitors also have access to a variety of informational literature. We invite you to visit this resource during school hours.
