Welcome to South Elementary!

  • Welcome to South Elementary! We are so excited to have the opportunity to work with all of our new and returning families this year. We want this year to be a positive experience for both you and your child. We will be working to create a caring community where your child can experience success and develop a love for learning. Every staff member has been working very hard to prepare for the return of our wonderful students. We have set very high expectations and made plans to help every student be successful this year.

Student academic success is the main goal of every staff member at South Elementary. We believe that every student will learn to the highest level. We ask for your support and participation in this effort by sending your child to school every day, encouraging your child to read at least 20 minutes every evening, monitoring your child's homework, and asking your child to share what they learned at school each day.

    Parent Involvement

We extend a standing invitation to our families to join us at school activities and events. We want, we need, and we value your involvement and support in your child's education! Your active participation is key to the success of your child.

Most importantly, please read to your students at least 20 minutes a day with your child... it's the most important time of the day!

    PANDA Club

We are continuing our attendance incentive program called the PANDA club. It stands for perfect attendance - no days absent. This program will run from month to month and if a student has not been absent, tardy, or signed out early, they will be able to come to school out of dress code on a designated school day.

Tardy is considered signed in after 8:30 in the morning and early dismissal would be signed out before 3:15 in the afternoon. We want to encourage all of our students to be at school every day.
