The Transition Academy is an adult preparation program for students who are 18-years or older and have been diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disabilities. During the program, students learn home life skills that will allow them to take care of themselves. The goal is for students to transition to life after high school with increased abilities and opportunities in three areas: home life, work life, and community life.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Transition School to Work Program, where they can volunteer with local area businesses and organizations. The focus of the Transition School to Work Program focuses on job exploration, self-advocacy, post-secondary counseling, work based learning, and work readiness skills.
